WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 7 Michigan Club DINNER AND ENTERTAINMENT

The first get together of the season will be Wednesday – December 7 at the West Center Auditorium

The evening will begin with a social hour from 5PM until 6PM followed by dinner at 6PM

The dinner menu : Honey Garlic Pork Tenderloin, Au Gratin Potatoes,Green Beans and Lemon Cheese Cake with Raspberry, Coffee Station.   A vegetarian option is available by advanced request.
Catered by Sweet Peas

Bring you own drinks, nibbles will be provided

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas by Alan Kruze.  Holiday Music from Gene Autry to Andy Williams

This PowerPoint presentation will feature secular popular Christmas music from the 1940’s through the 1960’s.  We’ll start with a song from the early 1940’s and then look at the influence “White Christmas” had on the genre. And so much more to look at the true meaning of the holidays.

Cost – members $23.00 and non-members $26.00

Membership is $10.00 and all membership fees paid last year will be applied to
this year also.

Reservations and payment should reach Rita no later than Friday, December 2nd , but don’t wait, the post office is slow so send it in now before you forget.  Allow at least 5 days for the postal service.  If you are unsure, call Rita for alternate drop-off sites.

UPCOMING DECEMBER GET-TOGETHER

Welcome Michigan Club to the upcoming 2022-23 year of fun and socialization.

Hope you all had a great summer. 

Below you will find the dates, food and entertainment, and the place to meet.  (please note –  we had to book another venue for February and March as there are concerts being held at the West Center) 

The Club has agreed to absorb entertainment costs for the near future. The meals are wonderful and catered by Sweet Peas.

The cost for the meals will be $23.00 for members and $26.00 for non-members for December, January, March, and April

January  – pizza cost for members $12.00 and $15 for non-members.

These costs just cover our expenses. We feel that the price is fair while the quality will remain excellent.  

Membership is $10.00 for the year. Those that paid last year  will be carried forward for this year because of the pandemic.

Please use this website – www.michiganclub.org  to become a member and reserve. We are still requiring a check to be sent to the address below as we investigate credit card payments. That will be a future goal.

JANUARY 4, 2023 GET-TOGETHER AT WEST CENTER

ENTERTAINMENT:  “Back Porch Music” The Jerry/Terry duo is a two-piece combo of Electric Guitar & Drums. Lead vocals are performed by Jerry while backup vocals and harmonies are supplied by Terry. The music mix includes 1940’s thru 50’s – 60’s and into the 70’s. The performers have over 50 years of music experience. The selections provide Dance and Listening pleasure and includes traditional selections as well.

Food: Pizza & Salad – this is all you can eat.

FEBRUARY 1st  GET-TOGETHER AT Las Campanas

Entertainment:  Mariachi Luz De Luna

Director Ruben Moreno has assembled a cast of experienced personalities that gives Luz de Luna its unique style. Mariachi is a genre of regional Mexican music that dates back to at least the 18th century. The band consists of violins, trumpets and guitars. Great music and great costuming. A great experience.

Food: Meatloaf, Mashed Potatoes, Steamed Broccoli – Carrot Cake

MARCH 1st  GET TOGETHER AT Las Campanas

Entertainment: DESERT CREEK will delight you with songs from the past. Sherry Walker, John Paulson, and Lawrence Severt have enjoyed playing music together for several years, selecting tunes from a number of genres including pop, rock, jazz, folk, show tunes, country and even cowboy music. Tap your feet, clap, DANCE or sing along to the songs you remember. We love rekindling long lost musical memories.

Food: Corned Beef & Cabbage, Soda Bread, Oven Roasted Potatoes – Apple Cobbler

APRIL 5th GET TOGETHER AT WEST CENTER

Entertainment: Bill Manzanedo

From Rio Rico AZ. Playing Southern AZ since 1972, in bands, duo’s and singles in bars, restaurants and private parties. He plays English and Latin music – music of all genres 1955 to now.

Food: Chicken Piccata, Egg Noodles, Italian Vegetable Blend – Tres Leches Cake

Summer Update

Hello Current and Future Michigan Club Members.

I just wanted to keep you updated with developments as they occur, so here’s an announcement.

The Michigan Club met twice last term and had  great meals and entertainment. We thank all that
have participated.

If you are currently a member, you are paid up through 2023. Dues for new members will now
be $10.00

02-01-23    Mariachi Band with 8 band members – 1 hr on stage. – also want to do the silent
auction so start thinking about items that you may wish to donate.

04-05-23 Talk on the Davis Monthan- Tucson Air Force Base from historian George Tinseth
1 hour talk and slide show talking with the Manhattan Dolls and Hot  Club of Tucson.
